Commercial Solar for Business

Turn your roof, land or car park into a working asset. We design, install and maintain commercial solar systems that cut energy costs, reduce exposure to volatile wholesale prices and move your business measurably towards net zero.

For most businesses, electricity is one of the largest controllable overheads — and one of the least predictable. Commercial solar changes that equation: every kWh your system generates on-site is a kWh you don't buy at retail rates, and with energy prices resetting higher after recent market turmoil, the maths has moved firmly in favour of self-generation.

A commercial install is a different discipline to a domestic one. It starts with your half-hourly consumption data, not your roof. Structural loading, DNO connection capacity, fire-safety compliance, maintenance access and — critically — the economics under your actual tariff all shape the design. We handle that full picture in-house, from the first survey to the generation meter being commissioned.

Whether you run a warehouse in Bedford, a factory in Luton or a farm across the Beds countryside, we design systems around the way your business actually uses energy — then keep them performing with monitoring and maintenance support for the life of the asset.

What we deliver

Complete commercial energy systems, designed as one

Solar rarely works alone in a business setting. We design generation, storage, charging and monitoring together so each part strengthens the others.

Commercial Rooftop Solar

Tiled, slate, standing-seam, trapezoid or corrugated roofs — we specify the right fixing system for your roof type, with ballasted non-penetrating mounts available for flat roofs so your warranty stays intact.

Ground-Mount Arrays

Underutilised land becomes a revenue-generating asset. We handle siting, foundations, cabling back to your supply, security fencing and remote monitoring as one package.

Solar Carports & Canopies

Car parks that pay for themselves: covered parking with generation above and EV charging below. Ideal where roof space is limited or you want visible sustainability infrastructure.

Commercial battery storage cabinets installed in a plant room

Battery Storage & Peak Management

Commercial batteries store cheap or surplus energy and discharge during peak-price windows — peak shaving and load shifting that protects you from the most expensive hours of the day.

Electric van and car charging at a row of workplace EV charge points

EV Fleet & Workplace Charging

Scaled, compliant charging infrastructure for fleets and staff, with smart scheduling that prioritises your own solar generation before drawing from the grid.

Monitoring, Maintenance & Support

Every system ships with professional monitoring. We watch generation and flag underperformance, with cleaning, inspection and inverter support available as ongoing care.

How it works

A managed project from first survey to first kWh

STEP 1

Survey & energy audit

We assess your roof or land, electrical infrastructure and — most importantly — your half-hourly consumption profile, so the system is sized to your actual usage.

STEP 2

Design & yield modelling

Structural checks, shade analysis and generation modelling. You see predicted output, self-consumption and export before committing to anything.

STEP 3

DNO & permissions

We handle the distribution network operator application, planning requirements and building compliance as part of the project.

STEP 4

Accredited installation

Our own MCS-certified teams install, test and certify the system — working around your operations to keep disruption to a minimum.

STEP 5

Handover & monitoring

Full documentation, staff briefing and live performance monitoring, with ongoing support and maintenance available.

Zero-impact operations: most commercial installs run without interrupting your business — we sequence roof work, plant-room connections and changeovers around your trading hours.

Who we work with

Businesses of every shape, across Bedfordshire and beyond

Every sector has a different load profile. We design around yours — the size, timing and pattern of your usage decides the right system, not a one-size-fits-all brochure kit.

Warehouses & Logistics

Large, low-profile roofs with daytime operations — the ideal match between generation and demand.

Manufacturing

High daytime baseload means solar directly offsets your most expensive imported units.

Agriculture

Barn roofs, grain stores and ground-mount systems powering irrigation, cooling and processing.

Retail & Shopping Parks

Visible sustainability credentials plus lower operating costs across long trading hours.

Offices & Business Parks

Cut landlord/tenant energy friction with systems sized to occupancy and HVAC profiles.

Schools & Public Sector

Budget-certainty energy and a living sustainability showcase for students and stakeholders.

Funding & returns

Ways businesses fund commercial solar

There's no single right way to pay for a commercial system — the right route depends on your balance sheet, tax position and how long you plan to hold the property.

Outright purchase

The fastest payback route. Your business owns the asset and every kWh of self-consumed generation from day one. Companies may be able to claim capital allowances on qualifying plant — your accountant can confirm what applies to you.

Spread the cost with finance

Asset finance and business loans let you install now and pay monthly, often with repayments lower than the energy savings — so cash flow improves from the first month.

Export income

Surplus generation exported to the grid can earn Smart Export Guarantee payments, adding a secondary revenue stream to the savings you make on-site.

Future-proofing

A solar array locks in a portion of your energy cost at today's prices for 25+ years — a genuine hedge against wholesale market volatility.
